Abstract
.beta.2-Microglobulin levels of serum and ascites were measured by radioimmunoassay in patients with malignant diseases. Ascitic .beta.2-microglobulin levels were significantly higher than those in nonmalignant diseases. Serum .beta.2-microglobulin levels were significantly correlated with serum .alpha.-fetoprotein in patients with definite or suspected hepatoma.
