Abstract
[male] and [female] rats each having an initial body wt. of 180 g. were compared in respect to their resistance to oral adm. of large amts. of cortin for a period of 1 wk. The [female] rat was more resistant than the [male] to overdosage with cortin. It was necessary to administer larger amts. to [female][female] than to [male][male] in order to produce loss in wt. of adrenals or the thymus, or in general body wt. In each sex the maximal atrophy of the adrenal cortices induced by cortin was similar in extent to that which occurred during 1 wk. in hypophysectomized animals. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
