Abstract
Web server performance is a critical issue for sites whichservice a high volume of requests. This paper examines theperformance of Web servers under high CPU loads. Simulationsare used in conjunction with workloads which wereobtained by analyzing Web logs and performance data fromseveral real sites. Performance is significantly affected by thepercentage of requests for dynamic HTML pages; dynamicHTML pages adversely affect server performance. In order tooptimize performance, the number...Keywords
