Thermoelectric power in half-filled bands

Abstract
We examine the conditions under which a system of interacting electrons exhibits zero thermoelectric power. We show, in particular, that a half-filled-band system described by the one-dimensional Hubbard model has zero thermoelectric power. These results are discussed in relation to the organic charge-transfer salts based on the acceptor molecule TCNQ (tetracyanoquinodimethan).Keywords
