Abstract
Starting from 1,2-
O
-isopropylidene-α-D-xylofuranose, a versatile method for the synthesis of branched 3′-deoxy-2′,3′-didehydro nucleosides is described and exemplified for an analogue of 3′-deoxy-2′,3′-didehydrothymidine (d4T).
