Investigations were continued on the nature of the growth factor requirements of Corynebacterium diphtheriae gravis, strain Dundee. Hypoxanthine, or adenine + guanine, or adenine + xanthine, were found capable of replacing concentrates of the growth factor from liver and yeast.
