A survey of 100 hospitalized cases of chronic urticaria is presented; 25 of 56 were symptom-free at the follow up. No unequivocal etiologi-cal factors could be established, apart from food allergy, found in 1 case. Fungi may be a possible cause of chronic urticaria. The skin of urticaria patients is often unreactive to allergic tests, histamine included.
