Interaction between Atoms withs-Electrons

Abstract
The formulas for the interaction between two identical atoms with an outer s-electron of arbitrary quantum number as developed by one of the writers (Rosen) in several earlier papers, are evaluated numerically. The results are presented in the form of graphs which show the shape of the Coulomb, exchange, and singlet energy curves for various values of the quantum number and how their minima vary with the latter. Curves from which the fundamental molecular constants may be read are included. A table of calculated constants for hydrogen and the alkali-metal molecules is presented and comparison made with experimental values, fair agreement being obtained.
