Abstract
The distal pigment cells in the eyes of certain Cuban fresh-water crustaceans show a diurnal migration corresponding with day and night. This movement persists even under constant illumination. Experiments to show the effect of anesthesia and the elimination of the blood supply to the eyes indicated a direct blood control and an indirect nerve control over the movements of the distal pigment cells. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
