Abstract
Two kinds of spectral distributions of gamma-rays are discussed. These are (1) spectra found in an infinite medium with an uniformly distributed monochromatic source, and (2) equilibrium spectra obtained in an artificial penetration problem. Curves are shown for various media and for various energies of the source photons. The relations of these spectra to the general problem of -ray penetration is discussed.
