Abstract
The male dba mouse is sensitive to the toxic effects of chloroform to such a degree as to constitute an unusual laboratory hazard, dying within 6-8 days after being in a room with, or near a beaker of, exposed chloroform. At autopsy the kidneys were large, pale, and swollen, and microscopically had gross tubular necrosis. Under similar conditions, female dba mice show a slight fatty degeneration of the liver, but are not otherwise affected.
