Elliptical waveguide analysis using improved polynomial approximation

Abstract
A new approach is presented for the study of wave propagation characteristics in uniform hollow conducting waveguides of elliptical cross-section. This approach uses a direct polynomial approximation to represent the curved boundary of the waveguide structure. The integration over the cross-section of the waveguide is performed by an analytical formula which saves computation time. The new approach is more efficient and more accurate than existing methods.
