In summary, three major potential barriers to initiating and implementing clinical nursing research are: system/entry restraints, education, and priorities. Each of these three major barriers consist of a number of factors that require acknowledgement by the nurse researcher. Potential barriers that impede or discourage clinical nursing research must be overcome to facilitate nursing research in the practice setting.
