Abstract
The new generic name Enterobacter is proposed with type species Enterobacter cloacae (basionym Bacillus cloacae Jordan 1890) Nov. Comb. Reasons for such a proposal and the description of the genus and type species are presented. Aerobacter aerogenes would be included in the genus as Enterobacter aerogenes.Keywords
