Abstract
Aneurysms of the sinuses of Valsalva are uncommon. Four cases are reported; also 25 cases of congenital aneurysms and 22 acquired aneurysms, proved at necropsy and confirmed pathologically, were collected. The embryology is discussed as well as the clinical features and the diagnosis. The striking features of cardio-aortic fistula are stressed. This condition, like a bicuspid aortic valve, is a lesion to be suspected when bacterial endocarditis develops in a heart apparently previously healthy. Keywords
