Abstract
The vit. A reserves of rats kept for long periods on a diet deficient in vit. E in which vit. A was supplied as halibut liver oil were always much lower than those of control animals receiving supplements of vit. E. After dosing with carotene the differences between the amts. of vit. A formed by rats treated and not treated with vit. E were relatively slight. This might be due in part to the particular exptl. conditions, such that differenti ation between adequacy and deficiency of vit. E was less clear cut than in the expts. on the storage of preformed vit. A.
