Abstract
Subcutaneous hemangiosarcomas developed in 97% of 172 B6C3F1 mice of both sexes fed either 0.03% or 0.06% 2‐methyl‐1‐nitroanthraquinone in the diet. There was no significant relationship to dose or sex. In addition, similar vascular tumors occurred in the mesentery of 14 mice. 2‐Methyl‐1‐nitro‐anthraquinone is carcinogenic in B6C3F1 mice when given in food. One of 97 control mice had a splenic hemangiosarcoma. Keywords
