Abstract
Presentation of CaseAn infant girl, 10 hours of age, was admitted to the hospital because of respiratory distress.The child was born of an uncomplicated fifth pregnancy and delivered by cesarean section. The mother's blood group was A Rh +. At birth there were no spontaneous respirations. The infant was intubated, and ventilatory assistance was given. Her first spontaneous breath was at two minutes, and she was extubated at five minutes. Mild respiratory distress was observed, with flaring of the alae nasi and sternal retraction. An umbilical-artery catheter was passed. A specimen of arterial blood, drawn with the baby . . .Keywords
