Abstract
EM was used to determine the main parameters of the structural organization of cholera C phage. The phage particles consisted of an icosahedral capsid and a thin noncontractile tail. The capsid has a triangulation number of 7 consists of 72 subunits and contains DNA with MW of (68.16 .+-. 1.63) .times. 106 daltons. The phage tail consists of 216 subunits and ends with a peculiar adsorption apparatus including a distal filament and 3 fibrils with knobs at the ends.
