GLUCOSE TOLERANCE AND THE GLYCOGEN STORAGE CAPACITY OF THE DOG

Abstract

The max. capacity of the dog''s liver or storage of glycogen in these exps. was ca. 20%, and the capacity of the muscle 3-4%. The dextrose tolerance of a dog is broken after this max. capacity is reached. The time necessary to reach this max. capacity is decreased by increasing the rate of administration of glucose.
