Abstract
The programming scheme is outlined for the numerical evaluation of the transfer function from the design data. An F/5 doublet and a modification employing a tenth-order aspheric are studied as a function of focal length and as a function of color. The basis of comparison is the transfer function and associated quantities: equivalent bandpass, and bandwidth of transfer function. Keywords
