Modulation characteristic and intensity noise of CW superluminescent diodes

Abstract

Index-guided superluminescent diodes for CW operation have been fabricated. Threshold current densities below 3 kA/cm² have been achieved. The low-frequency intensity noise and modulation sensitivity of this device have been investigated.
