Abstract
Spinodal decomposition is observed in a simulated Lennard‐Jones fluid using molecular dynamics, and the results are in agreement with the predictions of a recent microscopic theory. An initial exponential growth of supercritical density fluctuations is found and supports the linear approximation of the generalized diffusionequation for the initial phase separation. Keywords
