Elastic hadron-hadron scattering at ultrahigh energies and existence of many dips

Abstract

Recent experiments on high-energy, large-$t$ elastic $\mathrm{pp}$ scattering are discussed in the context of the geometrical picture. Detailed computations for elastic $\mathrm{pp}$, $\pi p$, and $\pi \pi$ scatterings based on this picture are presented. It is emphasized that at very high energies there will be many dips in elastic scattering.
