Abstract
Since arginine may be broken down in the body, not only by arginase but by oxidation as well, a study has been made of the effect of molecular alterations on the reaction with arginase. Changes of the guanidine or carboxyl groups or methyl-ation of the amino group made the compounds resistant to the action of the enzyme, but the addition of an acid group as benzoyl did not prevent the action of arginase. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
