Shear viscosity in ternary liquid systems near a plait point

Abstract
Shear viscosity measurements in the ternary liquid mixtures water–benzene–ethanol and water–diethylether–ethanol near their plait points at 25°C and 1 atm are reported. Various paths of approach to the plait point have been followed. A new method of plotting the data is introduced to show that the viscosity anomaly appears with the same qualitative features as in a binary mixture or in a pure fluid.
