Translator’s Note: These three papers by A. A. Logachev describe the pioneer work by the Russians in magnetic exploration with airborne equipment. Partly because of the language and partly because of the obscurity of the journals in which it was published, information on this work has not been widely circulated among American geophysicists. It is hoped that these translations will be of historical if not of practical interest to the profession.
