Abstract
Experience with 34 cases of calcifying epithelioma of Malherbe is analysed, and the frequency of misdiagnosis is noted. The apparent dramatic rise in incidence over the past few years may be due to an increasing awareness of the existence of this benign tumour by both clinicians and pathologists. Evidence is cited to support the view that the lesion arises from the hair-forming cells of the dermis. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
