Abstract
Urological abnormalities due to infection with S. haematobium were common in the pupils at Donge school, Zanzibar, Tanzania, in June 1964. Infected pupils were treated with stibocaptate and re-examined at the end of 1966 to assess the effect of treatment. There was a satisfactory reduction in urinary egg outputs and many parasitological cures, together with a significant reduction in prevalence of urological abnormalities. Results would almost certainly have been better if very young children of pre-school age had also been treated.Keywords
