Abstract
By utilizing the secondary electrons which are produced when an energetic charged particle enters a semiconductor particle detector, it has been found feasible to obtain two dimensional information on particle position without compromising the energy resolution of the particle detector. The low energy secondary electrons are transferred with spatial fidelity from their point of origin on the entrance face of the particle detector to an electron multiplier array (Bendix micro-channel plate) by means of a uniform magnetic field. The position of the output charge from the array is derived from signals in a resistive collector plate. Keywords
