Mobile Coronary Care — A Controversial Innovation

Abstract

The concept of the mobile coronary-care unit (MCCU) is currently receiving a great deal of attention.^{1 2 3 4} Pantridge, in Belfast, Ireland, first reported his experience in 1966.¹ Approximately two years later, Grace, from St. Vincent's Hospital, organized a similar unit in New York City. At least three other projects funded by the Regional Medical Programs are in various stages of development.
