ANTIGENIC RELATIONSHIPS AMONG VARIOUS INTERFERON SPECIES

Abstract
Mouse L-cell interferon consists of two antigenically distinct species, F (22 to 24K) and S(32 to 40K). Various type I mouse interferons, regardless of lymphoid or nonlymphoid origin, likewise consist of two species, whose antigenicities are indistinguishable from the two L-cell interferons. Interferon F was found to be completely neutralizable by an antiserum against human leukocyte interferon, suggesting a structural similarity between the important species of human and mouse interferons.
