Abstract
A relatively inexpensive continuous ventilation type of airborne infection apparatus suitable for the simultaneous exposure of 100 mice is descr. It satisfies the theoretical requirements for this kind of apparatus and has been used for the production of murine pulmonary tuberculosis with the Vallee strain of tubercle bacillus cultivated in Tween-albumin liquid medium. Gross pulmonary lesions were visible within 3 to 4 weeks after exposure. This apparatus should permit wider use of airborne infection methods with mice.
