Abstract
The design and the working analysis of industrial electrical motors are nowadays performed by means of motor models that take both electrical and thermal phenomena into account. This paper is focused on the measurement of the housing thermal resistance in free-air conditions, which one of the quantities employed in modern thermal models. This paper provides a critical analysis of the definition of such resistance and describes a fast procedure for its evaluationKeywords
