Abstract
Four patients with active Paget's disease were treated with the RNA inhibitor actinomycin D. Three were clinically improved after treatment; the fourth had multiple collapsed vertebrae and showed no symptomatic improvement. Striking changes took place in urinary calcium and hydroxyproline, in serum alkaline phosphatase, and to a less extent in serum calcium and phosphate. These studies are continuing and are being compared with the effects of mithramycin. Keywords
