Abstract
Reaction time of the 2 cerebral hemispheres was measured by indirect stimulation on 12 subjects for both right and left hands by means of a Hipp Chronoscope. No significant differences were found between the reaction times of the right and left hemispheres when the average of all reaction times was taken. The results, however, revealed significant individual differences, half of the subjects showing superiority for reaction time of the right hemisphere and half superiority for reaction time of the left hemisphere. The results support the view of Travis and others that the brain acts as a unit, but they show distinct individual differences in hemispheral superiority. Eyedness seems to be definitely correlated with handedness and brainedness as regards reaction time.
