Stereospecific synthesis of (1S,2S)-1-hydroxy-2-[(S)-valylamino]-cyclobutane-1-acetic acid, a novel microbial antimetabolite

Abstract

The unusual cyclobutane-containing dipeptide (1S,2S)-1-hydroxy-2-[(S)-valylamino]-cyclobutane-1-acetic acid (1), produced by an as yet unidentified Streptomyces species X-1092 was synthesised via a short stereospecific route.
