Abstract
This paper describes the in-vivo experience with a mixture (Mixture G) of four forms of the strong cation exchange resin, "Amberlite" IR-120, in the treatment of ammonia intoxication. This resin mixture, with a total quantity of 750 mEq, when used in the extracorporeal circulation system, was found to be efficient in the correction of hyperammonemia of experimental dogs and to be unaccompanied by any untoward effects.
