Abstract
It is possible to use multiple energy windows to achieve scatter subtraction in radioisotope scans and therby improve image contrast and resolution, particularly at depth. While it is true that some improvement in contrast could be gained by simple contrast enhancement, this would not lead to improved resolution. The improvement in image quality was achieved without significant loss of sensitivity. Although demonstrated for a particular rectilinear scanner, the technique is applicable to radionuclide imaging in general. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
