Abstract
The molecular structures and spectral properties of α-haloketones as well as their syntheses are analyzed and reviewed. Their reactivity towards oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur nucleophiles, carboxylic acids, carbon nucleophiles, alkenes, and alkynes are discussed.Keywords
