EFFECT OF ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION ON INDOLE-3-N-PROPIONIC ACID

Abstract
Irradiation of solns. of indole-3-n-propionic acid with u.-v. produced changes in the color, odor, and fluorescence of the acid and also in the effect of the acid upon the roots of bean and corn plants. Unirradiated indole-3-n-propionic acid solutions stunted the roots; irradiated solutions of the acid produced little or no effect.
