The ReactionC14(p,n)N14: Excited States inN15

Abstract

The relative neutron yield from ${\mathrm{C}}^{14}\mathrm{}(p,n)\mathrm{}{\mathrm{N}}^{14}$ has been measured for proton energies of 1100 to 2600 kev. Resonances occur at nine proton energies: 1165, 1310, 1664, 1789, 1883, 2024, 2079, 2272, and 2451 kev. The form of the yield curve and the calculated energies of the resonance levels in ${\mathrm{N}}^{15}$ are in good agreement with the results of others on the inverse reaction, ${\mathrm{N}}^{14}\mathrm{}(p,n)\mathrm{}{\mathrm{C}}^{14}$.
