Abstract
Newly synthesized 4-(hexachlorobicycloheptene-2-methyllene)-thiosemicarbazide (HTSC) is employed for an indirect determination of ruthenium III in the nanogram range by electron capture gas chromatography. Ru(HTSC)3 is extracted with chloroform from 4–6 N HCl, chelating agent and chelate are separated by thin layer chromatography and the polychlorinated ligand of Ru(HTSC)3 is utilized for electron capture GC.
