Corrosion Tendencies of Amalgam Surfaces Compared by Spontaneous Electric Potentials

Abstract
Corrosion tendencies of spherical and conventional amalgam surfaces treated in various ways were compared by measuring the spontaneous electric potential. The potential was generally higher for spherical amalgam. Polishing 1-day-old specimens lowered the potential slightly, but it soon rose beyond the original.
