Abstract
An extract of immature kernels of Zea mays was fractionated by a counter-current-distribution procedure. Several indole compounds, named zeanins, capable of promoting the growth of oat coleoptiles, were shown to be present. Possible relationships of the zeanins to other indole auxins are discussed.Keywords
