L-Shell Contributions to Multiple Ionization of Ari+ Ions (i=1, 2, 3) by Electron Impact

Abstract
With the use of crossed beams of electrons and multiply charged argons ions, dominant contributions (above 90%) of L-shell ionization to multiple ionization of Ari+ ions (i=1, 2, 3) at electron energies below 800 eV are identified. The observed contributions are explained in terms of the electron rearrangement processes following L-shell ionization.
