Recent work to understand aggregation phenomena and the structure of fractal aggregates is reviewed. After describing a typical aggregation experiment, the concept of the fractal is introduced and theoretical models capable of building fractal clusters are reviewed with particular emphasis on diffusion-limited aggregation. Keywords
