Abstract
Ptychogaster rubescens Boud. has been indicated as the chlamydosporiferous form of different species of hymenomycetes. The examination of the type cultures of P. rubescens Boud. and other species suggested as its normal forms, showed that P. rubescens Boud. can only be connected to Polyporus guttulatus Pk. as suggested by Davidson, Christensen and Darley and has no relation with Polyporus borealis Fr., Radulum spathulatum (Schrad.) Bres. or Poria vaporaria (Fr.) Bres.
