Microcomputer-Controlled Measurement System for IREQ's Power System Simulator

Abstract
IREQ's power system simulator is based on hybrid simulation involving measurement of a large number of signals. The signal selection, scaling, measuring, and routing functions are assumed by a Z80-based microcomputer controlling the input and output selectors as well as the programmable measurement devices. The paper describes the measurement system and points out the advantages of microcomputer control for this particular application.
