The First Spectrum of Iodine in the Region Between 08 and 22 μ*

Abstract
The infrared spectrum of iodine, excited in an electrodeless lamp, has been observed in the region between 0.8 and 2.2 µ. Wave number and intensity measurements have been made on thirty-one lines with an infrared recording spectrograph. Several new levels, probably derived from the 5p4 6p configuration, are indicated by these new measurements.
